YDP Family Support Worker CDYS Mallow YDP

17.5 hours a week

CDYS is recruiting for one (part time) Family Support Workers for the Youth Diversion Project covering Mallow and surrounds. This project is delivered in partnership with An Garda Siochana and are co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Union as part of the European Social Fund Plus Employment, Inclusion, Skills and Training (EIST) Operational Programme 2021-2027.

Youth Diversion Projects are local community-based projects whose aim is to help young people move away from behaviour that brings them into contact with the justice system.

The Family Support worker will work developmentally and organically with families of referrals to the Youth Diversion Project’s identified as needing additional support.  Appropriate interventions and programmes will be implemented to meet the needs of families referred in innovative and creative ways.

The projects offer opportunities for education, employment training, sport, art, music and other activities. The projects seek to encourage a better quality of life for everyone in the community and to support good relations between the Gardaí and the community.

CDYS is seeking dynamic individuals, who have a 3rd Level Degree (Level 8 or equivalent) in Youth Work, Social Care, or a related field and a minimum of 1 years’ experience of working with and supporting families in a community setting. in working with young people in a targeted way in a youth, community/outreach setting.

Youth Services Manager

35 hours per week

Cloyne Diocesan Youth Services (CDYS) provide a range of Youth and Community services across the Cork and now wish to recruit suitably qualified, motivated and capable Youth Services Manager with a flexible, positive and proactive approach.

The Youth Services Manager is responsible for the strategic leadership, operational management, and continuous development of quality interventions and projects to support young people across CDYS UBU Projects, Global Youth Work, Cork Creates and UP Cork youth projects.

The role will also include coordination, staff support, and service development responsibilities in line with organisational objectives.

Applicants must have:

  • Minimum Level 8 degree in Youth Work, Community Development, Social Care, Social Work, or a related field
  • At least 3 years’ experience in managing staff, ideally within youth, community, or family support services
  • Demonstrable experience of case management and working creatively in partnership with statutory and community organisations
  • Proven experience in managing, motivating and supporting a team
  • Strong communication, facilitation and networking skills
  • Experience working with and supporting volunteers
  • A high level of IT and administrative skill

If you have never volunteered or worked with young people before fear not- we provide ongoing support including a comprehensive Volunteer Induction Training while all our volunteers must complete a Child Safeguarding Awareness programme.

CDYS has an array of placement opportunities for secondary (Transition Year & 5th Year), Third level and international students.
