Introduction

CDYS 
Cloyne diocese is located in the northern and eastern parts of County Cork. CDYS (Cloyne Diocesan Youth Services) has many projects and centres located primarily in Mallow, Cobh, Femoy, Midleton and Macroom. 

 

CDYS Youth Clubs and Affiliated Services
There are currently ten affiliated clubs and groups around the diocese of Cloyne, serving their local communities. There is also a Youth Council a group of young people who came together to represent the voice of the youth in their area. They meet regularly to influence the direction the youth services take, by giving feedback on what all young people need. Their meetings take place locally and regionally every two months.

Youth Projects and Centres
The head office for CDYS Youth Work Ireland is situated in the Mallow Community Youth Centre.

CDYS Mallow Room Hire The Mallow Centre also has a range of classes and activities taking place, from Basketball to Bingo, There is also the  Youth Cafe, music projects and a sound recording studio. Many of these activities are organised by external groups. If you are interested in providing or taking part in an activity in the centre please contact the Centre Administrator

CDYS Gouldshill The Big Blue Cube.
The Big Blue Cube is a second centre located in Mallow on the south side. There are a range of different activities based at the gouldshill centre including boxing, drama, Mother & Toddler Group, Youth Club and much more.  

CDYS Midleton.
Project Leader Ross Bonner works together with youth workers from the area, as well as many dedicated volunteers, to provide a jam packed, fun filled service for the youths in the town and surrounding areas.

CDYS Fermoy.

The Fermoy service offers Music, Photography, Astronomy Groups among others and provides one to one counselling, and access to a drugs worker with support for families and education and harm prevention. 
Fermoy is home to the 

CDYS Cobh Cobh Garda Youth Diversion Project.
The project aims to: Facilitate activities and programmes that support participant’s personal development. Participation on the project is on a referral basis (Gardi, parents, self referral and through other professional agencies). We run regular groups and one to one work where activities are formulated around a young persons needs. A related project runs in the Mallow area

CDYS  Drugs Initiatives. 

CDYS Ltd. is host to four Community Based Drugs Initiatives in: 

These drug projects are funded by the Southern Regional Drugs Task Force and managed by CDYS and a local advisory group in each town.

With these Community Based Drugs Initiatives offers a doorway to help and hope. We try to respond appropriately to the struggles of families and individuals, who face the challenges of alcohol and drugs misuse.

Local Training Initiatives study full time with CDYS 
The Big Blue Cube is one of 2 sites offering local training initiatives.  On Offer this year is a Level 4 FETAC Major Award in Employability Skills with Additional Film Production, Multimedia, Animation and Art and Design Components.   The Macroomsite offers a FETAC Level 4 Full Award in Sport and Recreation with optional horticulture. 


 
Volunteering and Vacancies
CDYS relies on it’s Volunteers and Youth Workers. If you are interested in working within your community then the volunteerand vacancy page’s will get you started.   We also rely on our funders to be able to carry out our work

Specialist Support.

CDYS is sensitive to the needs of the youth within our communities 
There are support groups for Teenagers with Autism, Aspergers and related conditions 
In Mallow there is ACtivate and in Fermoy there is FACE Fermoy.For LBGT teens there are support groups within the diocese including dedicated Youth CafĂ© sessions.
