The parish youth ministry project supports the development of young people’s faith and how young people express their spirituality.

The Pope John Paul II Awards

The 3rd annual Pope John Paul II Award Ceremony was held in Mallow Community Youth Centre on 21st Oct 2015. 130 young people from the diocese and neighbouring diocese received the award.
It was a great achievement for the young people, their families, their schools and local parishes, St Mary’s Secondary School Mallow, The Patrician Academy Mallow, St Mary’s High School Midleton, St Colman’s Community College Midleton, St Aloysius College Carrigtwohill, Colaiste Mhuire Buttevant, Presentation Secondary School Mitchelstown and Sacred Heart School Clonakilty.
Guest speaker on the night was Elma Walsh, mother of the late Donal Walsh. Donal was a young Kerry teenager who touched the lives of so many people through his writings and subsequent appearance on the Brendan O’Connor’s ‘The Saturday Night Show’. Donal fund raised tirelessly while battling Cancer has now had the Donal Walsh #Livelife Foundation set up by his family primarily in order to promote his anti-suicide #Livelife message.  Elma touched the hearts of all the people present on the night both young and old.

Youth Choir

The Youth Choir worked very hard preparing for an exam Mass and their commitment is to be commended. The young people’s involvement really enhanced the Mass and going forward we would love to continue this work.  The choir meet on Tuesday’s from 5.30 – 6.30pm in the Youth cafe in Mallow Community Youth Centre.
